122 artifacts are back home from Australia

On November 5, Egypt received 122 artifacts from pharaonic, Greek, and roman phases from Australia. The artifacts were on board Egypt Air plane from Bangkok. A committee form Supreme Council of Antiquities arrived with the artifacts and to make sure of their originality.

The artifacts are now in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, downtown, Cairo under heavy security measures.

Smuggling attempt in Aswan went unsuccessful

A Sudanese traveler was arrested during an attempt to smuggle 7 wooden chests full of Islamic and Ancient Egyptian masterpieces out of Egypt.  

He was 50 years and got arrested and held for investigation if he is alone or part of a net. The boxes contained clay and metal pots, wooden chair inlaid with pearls and ivory, and clay and metal pots.

It was told that an archaeological committee is to travel to check the collection and its authenticity.
